UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Office of the Chief of Staff, United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Juba. Juba is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The incumbent reports directly to the Chief of Staff.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences, political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration, anthropology, economics, or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience, in the field of diplomacy, political affairs, international relations, humanitarian affairs or related area at the national and/or international levels is required.
  • Field experience and knowledge of UN peacekeeping operations are required including interagency coordination at the leadership.
  • Knowledge of strategic and /or operational partnership issues with regional organizations/ arrangements, and experience in building such partnerships is desirable.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
