Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Essential: University Degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Health Sciences, International Health & Nutrition, Public Health & Nutrition, Family Health & Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health & Nutrition Education, Health & Nutrition Promotion, and Disease Prevention or another relevant discipline.
Work Experience:
- Essential: At least two years of experience at the national level in the management and planning of inpatient therapeutic nutrition programs, in South Sudan. Knowledge of or qualification in Inpatient Management for Severe Acute Malnutrition with Medical Complications, based on WHO/MoH Guidelines 2018.
- Proven training facilitation skills and experience.
- Desirable: Experience in working with UN Agencies or NGOs in nutrition programs in South Sudan.
Functional Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical skills in Inpatient Management of SAM with medical complications.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues at the national and sub-national level.
- Proven ability to organize and facilitate training.
- Knowledge or sound understanding of the impact of acute malnutrition on child’s health and survival, and the burden on populations.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, writing skills, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to travel on missions to remote locations in South Sudan.
Language Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Arabic and other national dialects used in the high-risk areas.
