Key Responsibilities
- Line management for project staff
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and LFS strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant LFS projects
- Coordinate and manage LFS project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the relevant Specialists
- Coordinate and manage an Integrated/multi-sectoral response project leading to resilience in line with the proposals, strategies and donor requirements
- Ensure effective program and budget management in accordance with financial Handbook and donor requirements as well as donor requirement
- Contribute to the strategy shift from General Food Distribution in to more resilience programming
- Recruitment, training and management of the team in identified capacity gaps like need assessment, conducting registration, receiving commodities and distributing to beneficiaries in hard-to-reach locations adversely affected by the conflict
- Lead the grants start up meeting; prepare work plan, procurement plan, HR plan and spending plan for every newly approved project in consultation with the Area Manager and field team.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in food security
- 5 years of experience from working as a Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Technical expertise in food based programming (GFD, FFA, School meals etc.) and other aspects of Security and Livelihood and resilience programming
- Strong experience on cash and market programming
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the context in South Sudan
- Experience with start-up, exit or similar project processes
- Solid understanding and experience of crisis contexts and working in complex emergencies.
