UNICEF Job Vacancy 2021
Purpose of the Job: Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Specialist, the Logistics Officer performs highly skilled work on UNICEF supply chains, and manages the more complex cases and client requests, which frequently requires the evaluation of difficult situations and adaptation of procedures and processes to resolve such cases. This is the National Officer level for specialized supply chain work and requires advanced specialized knowledge acquired through formal training and experience. Responsible to plan, manage and monitor all aspects of warehouse, transport and distribution operations and inventory management of programme supplies at the Rumbek warehouse.
Eligibility criteria:
Education:
- University degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Management or Logistics or Procurement or related areas of technical specialization.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of one year of progressively responsible professional work experience in logistics operations and management.
- Experience of working within complex warehousing.
- Experience of supervising warehousing staff.
- Health supply chain management is an advantage.
- Experience of using excel to report and analyze data
Language Proficiency:
- Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, is essential.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
