FAO Job Vacancy 2021
Organizational Setting: The FAO Representation in Uganda provides technical assistance to the Government of Uganda in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and related sectors. The Agroforestry Specialist will support the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agro-forestry related interventions under the following projects: GCP/UGA/043/LDF project entitled “Integrating climate resilience into agricultural and pastoral production in Uganda, through a Farmer/Agro-pastoralist Field School Approach; GCP/UGA/054/EC project entitled “Global Climate Change Alliance plus (GCCA+)”; and GCP/UGA/055/SWE project entitled “Climate Resilient Women Economic Empowerment (CRWEE)”, funded by the Global Environment Facility, European Union and Government of Sweden, respectively. These projects aim to strengthen key government institutions at central and decentralized levels and build the resilience of communities in the face of a changing climate.
Eligibility criteria:
- University Degree in Agroforestry, Forestry or related area
- At least three years of relevant experience in Agro-forestry, Bio-energy plantations, Forestry plantations, Climate Smart Agriculture or related fields.
- At least 5 years working with District Forestry services and other stakeholders in the forestry sector
- Working knowledge of English
- Ugandan National
