GGGI Job Purpose
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, managing records and receipts.
- Reconciliation of Uganda office and its projects daily, monthly and yearly financial transactions and processing invoices. This will include but not limited to payment of staff entitlements, final payments, travel claims, vendor invoices, agencies and any other allowances for payments
- Be a key point of contact for project teams on financial and accounting matters and support the HR Finance team with projects and tasks when required.
- Aid in the preparation of activity budgets and the logistics of GGGI Events in Uganda.
- Take lead in of GGGI’s budgeting systems (in ERP) and people planner (in ERP) while ensuring the integrity of financial and management systems and the controls that underpin them.
- Lead and enhance the monitoring of project budget and track expenditures to ensure that programme resources are optimally allocated and utilized.
- Ensure adherence to GGGI policies across procurement, legal, HR and finance.
- Support the Country Representative and the Project Manager in monitoring the ongoing project(s) both substantively and financially.
Eligibility Criteria
- A University Degree in any one of the following accounting, business administration, economics, management, public administration or a related field.
- Previous experience with projects funded by KOICA or the Republic of Korea is an advantage
- At least five years relevant experience in finance and administration or any other relevant field.
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered accountant (CA) or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience in financial management and/or project budget management.
- Experience in organising workshops and logistics, including travel of participants.
- Fluency in English and excellent writing skills are essential.
- Knowledge of green growth and climate change issues would be an advantage.
