Scope of Work:
To support this research activity, IFPRI is seeking a consultant located in Uganda to collect the following information:
- Current water use data by sector (as detailed as possible), by source (groundwater and surface water) and by region.
- Water tariff data by source and by region
- Amount of renewable water resources by source and by region
- Water Accounts data that are consistent with national accounts in both monetary and physical units published by government or international organizations (data table will be provided)
- Cost structure of groundwater extraction for agricultural and non-agricultural activities
- Information about policy initiatives committed by national and local government related to groundwater development
- Development of alternative groundwater exploitation scenarios, by sector
- Discussion of scenarios with relevant national ministries and agencies
