Generic responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, guidance, procedures and donor requirements when implementing the projects.
- Contribute to the development of West Nile Area, and Education strategies, initiate, and participate in the development of relevant Education projects.
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Programme Manager and the CC Specialist
- Ensure that Education projects targets are met and beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
- Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with APM) and coordinate across CCs.
- Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
- Promote the rights of displacement affected populace in line with the advocacy strategy.

Qualification:
- Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, Community Psychology, International Relations and Migration, or relevant humanities
- A post graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Planning and Management
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Technical CC Education expertise.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience in shaping and scaling up education in emergencies response including assessments, developing response strategies.
- Experience with applying ICT tools in assessments, for analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Experience with developing proposals, budgets, work plans, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience with capacity building and team building of staff and community mobilization.
- Experience with partnership-based approaches, coordination, and holistic programme designs
- Knowledge and understanding of humanitarian standards such as INEE and Sphere
- Knowledge of the context in West Nile and/or neighboring countries is an asset.
