UNESCO Job Vacancy 2022
Overview Of The Functions Of The Post: Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa, the Senior Project Officer will head the UNESCO Education for Health and Wellbeing (EHW) Project Office in Johannesburg; and will represent the UNESCO Regional Director and Representative on all UN coordination mechanisms in South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Advanced university degree (equivalent to Masters) in public health, education, social sciences, or closely related fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) with particular expertise in UNESCO’s key leadership and main partner responsibilities within the UNAIDS division of labour.
- Experience in resource mobilization, support for programme implementation, budget management and programme reporting.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation.
Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent understanding of country contexts in different regions and a clear understanding of development work and of the education sector.
- Excellent organisational, networking and partnership building skills.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills including excellent writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver to deadline, as well as work under pressure.
Languages:
- Excellent knowledge (oral and written) of English.
