Job Purpose
This assignment aims to lead the implementation of the RBJ Knowledge Management Action Plan (2020 – 2030) to ensure the achievement of the below objectives:
- Lead the development, review, and preparation of critical high-level presentations/dialogues, reports and briefs to support the Regional Director’s office.
- Ensures knowledge management is incorporated in WFP – Southern Africa Region as a strategic resource that enhances business processes improves collaboration, and integrates into the design, implementation, and evaluation of programmes.
- Lead overall KM interventions, identify and eliminate knowledge barriers/gaps, and establish knowledge methods to ensure that the WFP – Southern Africa region becomes a learning organization where tacit knowledge is retained.
- Strengthen external knowledge partnerships and develop knowledge solutions/strategies to position WFP – RBJ as a partner of choice to governments, donors and continental and regional bodies such as the African Union (AU), AUDA-NEPAD, SADC and the Centre of Excellence in Brazil.
- Design and implement a focused (and needs-based) knowledge management and learning program for all staff and ensure that systematic knowledge sharing and dissemination is integrated into each country office’s performance plans and staff members.
- Work with HR to design an induction process that assist new staff members to access and make use of tacit and institutional memory.
- Leading and overseeing the development of publications/knowledge products, synthesizing knowledge in various domains of WFP work in ways that make valuable knowledge for decision-making and action while reducing information overload and duplication of efforts.
- Provide technical and strategic support to develop a Regional Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Platform that supports the experience capitalization process between countries in the region.
- Lead the documentation of best practices and share lessons learned during and after an activity/programme/ project.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Advanced University degree in Journalism, Philosophy, Social Science and Commerce or other relevant fields or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses in Knowledge Management will be an added advantage.
- Language: Fluency in English language and other UN languages (Portuguese, French)
- National Professional: Minimum 3 years of professional experience providing support on Knowledge Management and Publications initiatives.
