WFP Job Vacancy 2022
Job Purpose: Nutrition sensitive programming forms an integral part of the RBJ nutrition strategy, working towards understanding and addressing some of the underlying causes of malnutrition and this component will be support in this assignment. Additionally, exploring opportunities and establishing systems for timely delivery of emergency response including strengthening emergency response capacity and response coordination will be supported. Guidance to country offices in the design and establishing programmes will also be supported while also offering gap filling as needed by the countries.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Advanced degree (Masters) in Nutrition, Public Health, social sciences, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least five years of progressive professional experience.
- Experience implementing and running nutrition programmes, especially in integrating nutrition in Food Assistance, School Meals, Social Protection, Agriculture and Health sectors.
- Experience in emergency response planning and implementation including assessing these interventions’ impact.
- Previous experience in WFP or other UN agencies is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills to interpret food and nutrition assessment and related data.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of multi-sectoral experts (nutrition and beyond).
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Tact and diplomacy.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Intermediate (level B) French and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
