IOM Job Vacancy 2022

Under the overall supervision of the Regional Director for Southern Africa and direct supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator for the Regional Migration Data Hub (RMDHub) for Southern Africa and with technical support and guidance of the DOE Regional Thematic Specialist, in coordination with the relevant RTSs in the Pretoria Regional Office and the Global Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Coordinator, the Regional Coordinator for DTM will coordinate displacement tracking initiatives within the region in support of the Regional Migration Data Hub (RMDHub), ensuring compliance with global standards, quality of country-level outputs and adherence to global/regional/country data-sharing procedures.

Eligibility criteria

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Geography, Statistics, Demography, Social Studies, Economics or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
  • University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Experience:

  • Experience in the development and implementation of DTM or similar assessment and information management activities;
  • Experience in Information Management, emergency humanitarian operations, management and coordination of information flows, data management including collection, storing, processing, and analyzing data to generate information products in emergencies and post-crisis operations;
  • Experience in the coordination of technical aspects regarding the setting up of Flow Monitoring Points;
  • Experience working in international organizations, humanitarian community and familiarity with the humanitarian reform and cluster approach;
  • Experience with handling confidential data.
