Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional certification as chartered accountant (CA) or certified public accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be a distinct advantage.
Experience:
- Experience in IOM administrative, HR, Procurement, and financial management, budget
- monitoring, cash management and internal control procedures;
- Experience supervising the development and implementation of administrative internal control
- procedures;
- Experience on Audit processes; and,
- Experience in preparing various reports and statistics.
Skills:
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization;
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming;
- Knowledge of financial rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS);
- Solid understanding of IOM processes including knowledge of SAP for Finance;
- Knowledge of IOM accounting systems, software and procedures including IPSAS and SAP (PRISM) highly desirable; and,
- Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis.
Languages:
- IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
- For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of either French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
- Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
- which may include written and/or oral assessments.
