Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in security studies, military studies, international law, political science, international relations or related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible security sector experience, or experience in human rights and international humanitarian law, including related to the security sector is required.
- Experience in training and facilitation is required.
- Experience in security sector reform and/or analysis is desirable.
- Operational experience from deployed operations with national, regional or United Nations forces is desirable.
- Experience with the United Nations or other international or regional organization is desirable
Language:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
