Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in environmental sciences, environmental law, sustainable development studies or related fields.
- A first-level university degree in combination with additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years (with Master’s degree) or 17 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible experience, of which at least 5 must be at expert level in climate action, carbon market participation, climate investment, ETS models advisory or related areas;
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in carbon-related regulation, climate investment, global carbon market frameworks, impact measurement, relevant technology;
- Extensive experience in providing strategic advisory on climate related topics and negotiations including COPs;
- Experience in carrying out capacity needs assessment for international organizations, governments, private sector, CSO;
- Experience designing, and delivering institutional capacity-building programs, guides, training programs;
- Experience in coordinating high-impact institutional awareness-raising events;
- Demonstrable access to relevant networks of stakeholders in the development, public, private and CSO spaces and ability to efficiently mobilize them;
- Proven experience in effective partnership development with development, public and private sector institutions, philanthropic organizations;
- Previous work experience with UNDP and other UN organizations is an asset;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
Language:
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
