Job Purpose: The Programme Specialist, Strategic Information and Data Management oversees the UNFPA ‘big data” agenda and ensures the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of strategic information and data management. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in providing the evidence UNFPA needs to fulfill its strategic role in the country through mapping, analysis, modeling on the status and trends in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Maternal Health, adolescent and youth, gender dynamics and populations dynamics to inform programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Eligibility criteria:
Education:
- Advanced degree in Health Economics, Sociology, Policy making, Demography, public health, or other related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Five years professional experience preferably in the field of populations dynamics, demography, data management.
- Experience in linking population issues with poverty reduction, economic development, sector policies and plans, and national development plans required;
- Experience in population-related policy analysis, policy development, policy dialogue and policy advocacy required;
- Knowledge and expertise in migration, urbanization and ageing an asset;
- Experience in population research, census, DHS and civil registration an asset;
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in English;
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in current office software applications.
