UNU Job Vacancy 2022
Responsibilities: Based at the premises of the National Treasury of South Africa in Pretoria, South Africa, the Communications Associate coordinates and monitors the overall knowledge mobilization efforts to achieve the goals of the of UNU-WIDER’s SA-TIED programme implemented in partnership with National Treasury. The work is undertaken in collaboration with colleagues in the SA-TIED programme, stakeholders in South Africa and internationally in the areas of policy, research, media and civil society.
Eligibility Criteria
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, international relations, economics or equivalent field with two (2) years of relevant work experience preferably in economics related or international organization.
- Demonstrated ability to repackage and communicate economics and/or development research in an international multi-platform environment to target audiences around the world.
- Demonstrable skills in graphic design and/or data visualization, especially experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop) is an advantage.
- Experience in using Drupal (or other CMS), CiviCRM (or other CRM) and database tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of the UN system is an advantage; previous experience of working in international development organizations would be an asset.
- Excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Strong ability to establish priorities, multi-task and work within tight timelines.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a high level of resilience.
Language Requirements:
- Outstanding command of English language writing and editing for academic and non-academic target audiences.
- Knowledge of another UN official working language is an asset.
