Field of activity: To support these processes, we need your help. The internship will give you the opportunity to gain insights into the financial, contractual and administrative work underpinning a technical assistance project of German Cooperation. You will also get to know the way GIZ works internally, in reporting to stakeholders as well as in conceptualizing the next chapter of our project financially.
Your tasks:
- Support in the project’s annual expenditure planning and monthly expenditure monitoring for both BMZ and EU funds
- Support in the financial planning for the new project phase
- Support in the preparation of the project’s annual financial reports for both BMZ and EU
- Support during financial audits and internal controls
- Support in preparation of contracts as well as contract management and extension
- Internal research tasks
- Day-to-day support to Finance and Administration Team
- Translation tasks (German-English) for national colleagues
Your Profile:
- You must currently be enrolled in a tertiary education institution, studying for a bachelor / master’s degree or have graduated less than 6 months before the internship starts
- Fluency in German equivalent to proficiency level C2 (written and spoken)
- Fluency in English equivalent to proficiency level C1 (written and spoken)
- IT proficiency (MS Office)
- Basic knowledge of development cooperation
- Ability to work independently, result-oriented, and to quickly adapt to new tasks and contexts
- Ability to grasp complex issues and reflect them in a comprehensible way
