IGCP Zambia looking for “Marketing and Communications Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Produce and implement strategic marketing plans to promote the organization brand and services in line with the strategic plan; adhering to approved budgets and ensuring that available resources are effectively utilized.
  • Evaluate the success of marketing campaigns and contribute to reports for management team and board as required.
  • Handle all aspects of the organization print production, managing design, proofing and distribution of all publication, leaflets, brochures and publicity material. This will include ensuring all printed materials are effective, produced to a high standard within budget and delivered on time to the appropriate target audience.
  • Liaising with external suppliers or designing in house as appropriate any publications, leaflets, brochures, advertisements and publicity materials.
  • Liaising with internal staff, external clients and partners to collate information and ensure that all marketing materials contain appropriate information about the organization activities.
  • Manage organization’s website and all online marketing communications.
  • This will include managing all the organization’s email marketing communications, being responsible for planning and delivering effective digital campaigns to the appropriate target audience.
  • Ensuring that information on the organization website is regularly updated and managed: ensuring 3rd party website contain appropriate up-to-date information about organization activities and ensuring that links are established and maintained with appropriate organizations.
  • Ensure that the organization is maximizing online marketing opportunities including search engine optimization and social networking opportunities.
  • Monitor website statistics and provide regular reports of marketing campaigns as necessary.
  • This will include management of the organization and service brands: ensuring consistent use across all communications as appropriate. This will include ensuring that sponsors are credited as required by them. Manage and develop brand style guidelines for internal and external use.
  • Ensure that the organization and its brands are assigned adequately across the site, particularly in the case of the commercial brands.
  • This will include: producing and liaising with producers of temporary and permanent signage advertising, negotiating for sponsorship on advertising space and producing adverts to deadlines.
  • Undertaking regular market research campaigns to existing and potential customers where appropriate.
  • Evaluating and reporting on marketing campaigns.
  • Liaising with other organizations and partners who are able to undertake research on our behalf.
  • Liaise with other organizations and develop joint initiatives to market and promote the organization.
  • Lead the team in organizing annual fundraising events.
  • Provide assistance, support and participate in other organization events.
  • Support the organization marketing and fundraising campaigns; ensuring that they are a success.
  • Comply with the organization Human Resources/Associate Policy.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing / Associate Degree in Marketing & Communications or Public Relations or any related field

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter/driven and able to stay self –motivated
  • Able to work and manage program activities within set deadlines and with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to network with stakeholders at different levels.
