VSO Job Vacancy 2021
Job Purpose: This position will lead implementation and integration of sexual reproductive health including family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention activities, prevention and management of sexual violence, planning for comprehensive SRH services and livelihoods components of the TALK II project in Samfya and Lusaka according to project expectations and requirements including quality, time and budget specifications. S/he will lead or support assessments, strategy development, project management and implementation and training
Responsibilities:
- Support the community volunteers and Youth Engagement Volunteermaintain and follow comprehensive work plans,ensuring that the project is implemented according to project specifications (quality, time and budget/plan) and in line with VSO’s core approaches (Social Inclusion and Gender, Social Accountability and Resilience).
- Provide technical support (capacity building) on community reintegration to Community Engagement Assistant Volunteers and Community Reintegration Volunteers on a roving basis
- Working with the Project Implementation Manager, Finance Manager, M&E and Social Accountability and Youth Engagement Volunteers to develop realistic annual project plans and budgets, ensuring compliance with project requirements and VSO guidelines.
- Prepare project monthly and quarterly reports including coordination of the collection of stories of impact.
- Participate in resource mobilization initiatives, ensuring that the project/community evidence is made available as well as ensuring M&E is integrated in the proposal
- Supporting the M&E Volunteer in the development of a comprehensive M&E framework that will enable VSO to assess the outcomes and impact of the TALK II project
Qualification/ Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any social sciences, Public Health, Nutrition and dietetics or Project Management or any other relevant field
- At least 2 years of project management and SRHR experience, working with multiple stakeholders using inclusive approaches to programming that encourage full participation of individuals especially the engagement of youth especially in remote settings, regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status.
- Experience working with youth, M&Eand skills intraining facilitation and developing SRHR and livelihoods content will be an added advantage
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to vary communication content and style to suit audiences to inform, motivate and inspire
- Ability to build effective working relationships, inspiring confidence and credibility with employees and partners at all levels. Ability to work effectively across a globally dispersed organization will be essential.
- Experience of working in a team
- Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure. Time management skills are essential.
- Experience of successfully monitoring and managing budgets.
- Ability to analyze and quickly grasp the fundamentals of a need or issue. Able to find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
