In support of the Government of Zimbabwe, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has embarked on the implementation of a five-year Country Programme Document (CPD) 2016-2020. UNDP focuses on areas that have a multiplier effect through a targeted build-up of capacities, policies, the creation of dialogue space, and scalable downstream interventions. Proposed downstream interventions will seek to provide platforms for citizen engagement in democratic processes and facilitate access to skills, knowledge and new technologies for increased income generation.

UNDP Job Vacancy 2021
Background: Under the guidance and supervision of the UNDP Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, the Monitoring and Evaluation Intern supports the effective implementation of the monitoring and evaluation policy, monitoring and evaluation requirements for the Country Programme and projects, and thematic crosscutting activities. The Monitoring and Evaluation Intern works in close collaboration with Programme and Operations Teams in the UNDP Country Office to ensure that thematic, programme and project as well as outcome M&E is carried out according to schedules and that findings and recommendations are implemented and followed up on.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support promotion of monitoring and evaluation standards, quality assurance/control and capacity development in the Country Office;
- Updating the programme dashboard weekly and following up with respective colleagues on outstanding information within two months;
- Support quarterly updating of the Annual Work Plan tracking templates and implementation of planned activities;
- Follow up on the status of unit work plans and the progress being made towards targets defined in the CO IWP;
- Support production of internal monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
- Provide the necessary technical support in the entering and quality control of project data into the ATLAS project management module and the implementation of the PQA action plans;
- Support data collection, data entry and data analysis in excel and SPSS, synthesis and reporting of office, regional and global indicators;
- Provide general support to Monitoring and Evaluation activities as prescribed by the office;
Qualification and Experience:
- A University degree in Economics, Statistics, Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences or related field is preferable. Possession of a Masters Degree would be an added advantage;
- 1 year of relevant experience in M&E and Results Based Management;
- Post graduate raining in monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, SPSS etc.).
- A Zimbabwean national.
