Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling and outreach activities, with the aim to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work.
  • Support partner visibility and ensure partner conditions are met.
  • Use data to present managers with well-researched ideas to expand support from existing partners and to scope new partners.
  • Solicit inputs, including operational updates, from other WFP entities and units to inform partner audiences on WFP’s programmatic offering.
  • Support the drafting of quality briefs and talking points, and proactively highlight strategic issues to senior staff to inform best course of action and nurture partnership growth.
  • Contribute to partnerships strategies, including the development of Partnership Action Plans and draw up quality partner proposals and reports by engaging with other WFP entities, units and external stakeholders.
  • Gather and present internal and external data/information, using key information systems to support WFP’s effective positioning vis-à-vis national governments, regional and international institutions
  • support the development of partnerships and joint events with member states, civil society and intergovernmental organizations to advocate for the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the global agenda and advance WFP priorities and objectives.

Qualification:

  • Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
  • Language: Fluency (level C) in English language and proficiency in any of the local languages is desirable.
  • Experience: Three years of relevant professional (managerial) experience related to national development programmes, policies, strategies or plans and institutional structures, preferably revolving around food security and/or nutrition.

Requisite Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to engage and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in dealing with private and public sector entities like Gorvenment Officials, UN Agencies intergovernmental institutions and their member states, international financial institutions, individuals, corporations, foundations and NGOs.
  • Highly proficiency and computer literacy.
  • High level of numeracy, financial analysis and results tracking skills
  • Knowledge of key national and regional contexts and issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written outputs and ability to present in English and the working language.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, participating in open dialogues and valuing diverse opinions of others, regardless of gender, culture, background, experience, or country assignment.
