Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Contribute towards the development of VAM systems, processes and plans, ensuring alignment with wider WFP policies and guidance.
Provide technical guidance and support to WFP, the government and its partners on matters pertaining to food security and nutrition strategies, policies, programmes, and facilitate the timely and productive use of related outputs in a manner that complies with the WFP standards and processes.
Strengthen the Country Office’s knowledge base and the understanding of food security and vulnerability issues at country level, contributing to a better preparedness and response capacity to protect the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities.
Providing technical support to the field offices and cooperating partners in maintaining a functional market monitoring and food security monitoring systems.
Contribute to the designing and implementation of assessments i.e. tools design, from planning, organising, data collection, data cleaning and report writing.
Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on the progression of food security to enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
Conduct spatial analysis, producing maps and catalogues to improve information management.
Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.
Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries.

Qualification:

Education: Advanced University degree in Economics, Food Security, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health/Nutrition, Geography or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
