UNDP Job Vacancy 2022
Job Purpose: The TB Self-Assessment and Messaging Service (mHealth)e is a Digital Adherence Technology (DAT) which enables providers to make informed decisions about patients who need either more or less intensive follow up to maximize treatment success rates. The mHealth Service will enable the NTP and health providers to cost-effectively increase their engagement and communication with the general public and registered patients around TB prevention, case detection and treatment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ministry of Health and Child Care’s National TB Program proposes to build and roll-out this application in the provinces of Midlands and Bulawayo, as they relatively report high TB incidence and lower treatment success rates. The mHealth Service will integrate with the TB Module in the MoHCC’s existing electronic health records system contributing to achievement of key TB goals and milestones through enhanced engagement with patients, reporting & analysis and machine learning. An application awareness campaign will also be done whereby the system will be advertised 15 times.
The mHealth Service will include the following features to mitigate these effects:
- TB Self-Screening and Referral Application: This application offers innovative technology for the public can check symptoms via phone; presumptive cases are referred to a health facility for TB screening. A consenting client may take a self-assessment using the mHealth diagnostic service. If the system classifies the client as presumptive, SMS messages will automatically be sent to the client recommending TB testing and providing educational information. If the system classifies the client as non-presumptive, educational SMS messages will be sent on TB prevention and symptom identification
- Contact Tracing Application: If confirmed at a health facility, healthcare workers can solicit contacts from the presumptive TB patients. Text message reminders to visit a health facility for TB screening are sent to mobile phones of all contacts.
Qualification & Experience:
- The relevant individual should have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any related field.
- Proven Knowledge and the use of the following tools is a must: software versioning, java, jasper reports, angular JS.
- Knowledge of health information systems is an added advantage.
- At least 6 years working experience.
- Proven experience in developing working system (provide references).
- The individual selected should be a local.
