IOM Job Vacancy 2022
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Develop, set up, manage, and maintain Information, Counselling and Referral Service (ICRS) databases application system as per requirements set by the DDRR programmes in the LCB region.
- Supervise, follow up and test the implementation of the technical equipment in the different transition and rehabilitation centres in the region.
- Identify and implement potential improvement areas for the system to keep enhanced effectiveness and efficiency of the process flow.
- Set up an effective system of data and files classification, with comprehensive documentation (physical and software data).
- Monitor the start-up of the system, supporting users, and set up contingencies for troubleshooting problems.
- Develop a tailored Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for additional reporting.
- Prepare a budget and maintenance or management plan for short and long-run programme.
- Prepare a work plan for development, quality control, rollout, full implementation, and management of the application.
Position in Organization:
- Position Title: Regional Database Officer (Information, Counselling and Referral System (ICRS))
- Duty Station: Abuja, Nigeria
- Classification: Professional Staff, Grade P2
- Type of Appointment: Special short-term graded, six months with possibility of extension
- Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible
- Closing Date: 25 August 2022
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in cooperate business application development for process flow management;
- Experience in windows and web-based application development;
- Experience in MS SQL, Access, C#, VB.net, MVC application development and data management is required;
- Experience in MySQL, PHP and extensive knowledge of contents management system packages, open-source frameworks (JavaScript/AJAX, HTML5, etc), and programming API is an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Applications and Microsoft Dynamics Certificate is an advantage;
- Ability to work effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong general analytical skills.
Language
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
External applicants for all positions in the Professional category are required to be proficient in English and have at least a working knowledge of one additional UN Language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese).
For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of one of the IOM Official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
