Duties And Accountabilities:
The ETC responsibilities as a member of the team will include:
- Provide operational and technical support to Bank engagement in South Sudan’s energy sector, including the South Sudan Energy Access Project currently under preparation.
- As one of the core task team members, provide substantial contribution in the implementation of the advisory and analytical program in the energy sector of South Sudan.
- Under the general guidance of the TTLs, liaise with the Government of South Sudan, including the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Ministry of Energy and Dams, South Sudan Electricity Corporation and other relevant sector entities.
- As the Juba-based representative of the energy team, liaise with the Bank’s South Sudan Country Management Unit and other sectoral teams in Juba. The candidate is also expected to participate in CMU-wide activities such as unit meetings and cross-sectoral analytics in South Sudan.
- Liaise with development partners, including United Nations agencies, operating in South Sudan.
- Coordinate mission organization including meeting scheduling, drafting of aide memoires and other official correspondence.
- Supervise international/external consultants operating in Juba.

Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or other Energy and/or Development-related areas.
- 5 or more years of work experience and knowledge in the energy sector.
- Strong and broad technical understanding of electricity sector in South Sudan.
- Work experience in a development agency (e.g. International Financing Institutions, United Nations, bilateral agencies) is desirable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
