The NRC has published a job vacancy announcement on 30^th July 2021 for qualified Ethiopians to fill in the vacant post of Education Team Leader to be based in Assosa, Ethiopia.

NRC Job Vacancy 2021

Generic responsibilities:

• Coordinate Refugee and hosting community education activities according to NRC Global and Ethiopia county strategy plans and Projects,
• Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements,
• Support and guide Education Project Officers, Education Project Assistants to Involve in the proper implementation of Project activities (Youth education and training, Accelerated education programme and education in emergency)
• Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
• Coordinate with monitoring agencies (ARRA and UNHCR) for the refugee education projects and government agencies and relevant partners on the education in emergency projects,
• Initiate procurements, support and guide education project officers, education project assistants and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
• Train and develop team (both National and refugee staffs)
• Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
• Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the education activities
• Continuously maintain the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the education programme.

Qualification:

• A minimum of Master’s degree in education, preferably in Pedagogical science, Educational Psychology, Educational planning and Management or related.

Experience

• 4 years’ experience of working as a Project Officer/Team leader in the education sector/skill training programme, and humanitarian/recovery context.
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
• Knowledge about own skills/profile.
• Fluency in English, Amharic and other local languages.
• Knowledge of the context in Benishangul Gumuz Refugee and IDP context
• Knowledge of the local language which is an asset.
• Experience in general education, in vocational skills trainings and income generation related support with start-up packages is an advantage.
