BRAC International Job Vacancy 2023
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of high quality Annual Strategic Plan and AOP of the finance and accounts department relevant to the local context and the organisational priorities.
- S/he is the primary liaison to the board of directors’ finance committee and works closely with it to strengthen BRAC Uganda’s financial position and other items as required.
- Work closely with the Country Director and the Country Management Team in developing BRAC Uganda strategic plan especially the financial aspect.
- Leadership and Stakeholder financial management (Banks, Suppliers, staff, statutory bodies, programs, projects).
- Develop, set up and manage financial reporting systems, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with donor and stakeholder requirements and provide reports to guide decision making process.
- Financial payments, business process facilitation and overseeing the quality implementation of the financed activities.
- Develop, manage, monitor and oversee the budget lifecycle.
- Manage audits both external and internal and ensure a good inventory management process.
- Prepare and submit standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports and other supporting documents to the Country Director, Bl anchor, donors and relevant partners.
- Continuously evaluate the best industry practices in comparison to internal systems and needed resources, with an eye toward both future needs and budget realities.
- Has the overall responsibility for recruitment, retention, performance and staff development of the finance team.
- Implementation of the BRAC vision, mission, values and policies including an effective safeguarding policy.
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration/ Finance / Commerce/ Accounting/ Statistics/ related field.
- CPA/ ACCA will be preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Critical thinking, decision making and adaptability to pressure
- Knowledge of contemporary accounting packages
- Good financial management skills, system set up and development
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
- Ability to interpret documents and understand procedures
- Writing reports and correspondence.
- Excellent cross cultural people management skills
- Computer literacy
- Interpersonal skills and customer care.
Experience Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in complex accounting and finance systems, including reporting, budgeting, audit at management position in a reputable organisation handling a large portfolio.
- Experience in donor funded projects with understanding about rules and regulation of major donors.
- A strong experience in working with national partners, local/government authorities.
