CIMMYT Job Vacancy 2023
Specific Duties:
- Collate and curate a range of pedo-climatic, crop/livestock management, and natural resources data from different sources at different spatial and temporal scales.
- Analyze the impact of climate change on food systems and develop strategies to minimize those impacts using primary and secondary data.
- Quantify the environmental footprint of food systems, identify key drivers of such footprints, explore options to minimize such footprints and their abatement potential.
- Contribute to better understanding of pedo-climatic, socio-economic, and political contexts of the food systems.
- Exploit big data analytics, machine learning, and integrated modeling for developing targeted sustainable agrifood systems.
- Assist in developing strategies for scaling already proven and validated technologies for agri-food system transformation for enhancing food security, climate adaptation and mitigation.
- Work with stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, and industry leaders, to continuously implement and evaluate climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to stakeholders on climate change adaptation and mitigation of food systems.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies and provide recommendations for future improvements.
- To be involved in fine-tuning technologies, crop management, policies, and partnerships through adaptive research, with a focus on climate change across the food systems.
- Participate in field visits, collaborate with CGIAR center staff, and communicate project activities to various audiences, including the donor communities.
