DI Job Vacancy 2022
Job Duties: The Civic Engagement Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Serve as chief liaison to civil society organizations;
- Carry out activities to support civic engagement with sensitivity of the complex environment;
- Advise local CSOs enhancing civic engagement at the local level based on a demonstrated working understanding of the context;
- Provide overall management guidance and technical direction to the civic engagement elements of the program;
- Liaise with partners and grantees supporting community organization and mobilization;
- Provide technical guidance to ensure the sustainability and local leadership and ownership of public participation mechanisms and CSO initiatives;
- Support the Chief of Party (COP), along with the Deputy COP to oversee and manage the Program, Operations, and Learning Teams;
- Provide technical inputs and support the development of deliverables;
- Ensure technical excellence;
- Assist with data gathering and analysis during assessments.

Qualification:
- Master’s degree, preferably in International Relations, Political Science or a related subject;
Experience:

- Experience working for USAID projects preferred;
- Experience supporting civic engagement development in complex political environments or closing democratic space, and knowledge and experience in Ethiopia or surrounding countries preferred;
