Your Tasks:

  • Responsible for compliance with company-wide procedures, country-specific guidelines and other legal requirements.
  • Leadership responsibility for national employees in their respective functions of the office structure.
  • Close cooperation and coordination with the operational regional management as well as with the GIZ country office.
  • Participation in the preparation of cost center planning for the organizational unit.
  • Commercial support of internal controls and audits.
  • Creation and implementation of the commercial crisis plan.
  • In project controlling, you are responsible for the commercial processing of projects from international donors (especially the EU), from the financial calculation to the final invoice. This includes, among others, the following tasks:
  • Advising team leaders and project managers on all commercial issues (e.g. instruments for financial management, cost savings options, improving calculated results, risk management).
  • Overall commercial management of budgets, commitments, cost objects, cost centers to support those responsible for the project and department management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed university degree in economics with a focus on finance and controlling or comparable training. Several years of work experience in financial management or project controlling as well as experience in carrying out internal controls and audits.
  • Several years of experience in international contexts (preferably with reference to the Global South). Experience abroad in a professional context is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing employees in an international context is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GIZ’s processes in the commercial processing of projects from international donors (especially the EU) is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work independently and flexibly and a high level of service and customer orientation as well as excellent communicative, social and intercultural skills.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office programs and user experience in SAP.
  • Fluent German and English skills are mandatory. Additional language skills (particularly French and/or Portuguese) are an advantage.
