IOM Job Vacancy 2021
Core Functions / Responsibilities: Provide strategic advice and direct support to the Office of the Commissioner on migrant protection and assistance policies and strategies, including coordination with key partners, and relevant AUC Departments. & Provide advice and guidance to the Department of Social Affairs in enhancing the capacity of AU Member States on resource mobilization and partnership building for ensuring sustainable funding of migrant protection and assistance policies and programmes, in line with international and continental strategic frameworks. & Support enhancing and mainstreaming of migrant protection and assistance policies in AU Member States specifically for vulnerable migrants, including unaccompanied migrant children, and return and reintegration.
Position in Organization:
- Position Title : Senior Advisor (Migrant Protection and Assistance)
- Duty Station : Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Classification : Professional Staff, Grade P5
- Type of Appointment : Fixed term, one year with possibility of extension
- Estimated Start Date : As soon as possible
- Closing Date : 02 June 2021
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Law, Social Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with ten years of relevant professional experience; or University degree in the above fields with twelve years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Proven experience in migrant protection and assistance policies and strategies, migration affairs and development, preferably for an African Institution, or intergovernmental organization in Africa or Europe;
- Experience in project planning, coordination, development, management, monitoring and evaluation;
- Proven experience in managing staff, preferably in the position of a Director, liaising with governmental authorities and other national/international institutions with proven record;
- Experience in an International level of direct donor liaison;
- Extensive experience in public relations, as well as in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities and institutional institutions.
