Save the Children Job Vacancy 2023
Role Purpose: The Director will provide overall strategic, technical and operational leadership and managerial oversight for the administrative, programmatic, technical, research and operational aspects of the program in the country. S/he will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination and technical direction and management of the program to ensure adherence to overall technical and programmatic quality in implementation and the timely submission of all deliverables to Save the Children and the donor. S/he will be accountable for the quality of interventions and for the effective financial and operational management including financial and budgetary oversight, timely implementation of activities, and effective stakeholder relationship management while developing and maintaining strong working relationships with SCUK, government and partner agencies, operating in the country on immunization and child health. The Program Director will also serve as the primary liaison and program representative with government representatives, donors, partner agencies and local institutions and communities. S/he will ensure that planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as donor reporting functions for efficient and effective program execution to ensure programmatic purposes and outputs achievement. S/he will have an active role in liaising with Save the Children UK and other partners of the immunization program, ensuring all activities are coordinated and will contribute to the achievement of the program’s objective.

Qualification & Experience:
- Advanced degree in program management and/or business administration.
- At least 10 years of experience in public health programme management and administration, financial management, award contractual compliance, sub-award management, and tracking project performance and costs via specific funding streams. Five (5) of these years should be in child health and public health programs of similar complexity.
- At least 5 years of experience managing a programme that focuses on at least four of the following areas: immunization, prevention and treatment communicable childhood illnesses; social and behavioral change; quality improvement/quality assurance; and civil society capacity building.
- Experience in leading similar projects operating in remote and fragile contexts in Ethiopia.
