UNDP Job Vacancy 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and regularly updates DPG Communication Strategy based on development in the aid environment and architecture, including a supporting work plan and budget.
  • Ensures effective design and implementation of the DGP publication plan.
  • Establishes close working relationships with DPG member agencies with a view to identify communication synergies.
  • Provides advice to Secretariats of DPG Joint Working Groups for the development of their communication plans.
  • Assists the technical working groups and member agencies with joint DPG advocacy activities, including support to public events, launching ceremonies, celebrations, visits of HQ officials, organization of field visits, workshops and communication advocacy initiatives related to global initiatives.
  • Explores and recommends ways in which the DPG can support popular, cultural, sporting or other events that draw attention to Ethiopia’s needs and the role that the DPG is playing.
  • Establishes links with other similar donor coordination mechanisms existing in and out of the country.
  • Gains insights from other countries experience to promote and publicize SDGs implementation and how donor coordination mechanisms are supporting such efforts.
  • Gains familiarity with the communication and media environment in Ethiopia.
  • Develops a database of key local and international media contacts.
  • Shares and responds to requests for information and assistance in a timely manner.
  • Monitors international and local media and shares development cooperation related topics with DPG members.
  • Develops press releases on priority areas identified by the DPG.
  • Prepares written materials including speeches, talking points, articles, press releases on and responses to coverage about the DPG in the media.
  • Supports the DPG to engage with the media by identifying potential stories, arranging interviews.
  • Prepares, organizes and documents important DPG events, including DPG retreat, as well as high profile meetings with Government and other development partners.
  • Promotion and dissemination of advocacy materials for launching joint initiatives, JWG events and publications.
  • Promotion and maintenance of public information on national development including DPG’s development cooperation to implement the national priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • Organization of round-table discussions, press conferences, briefing sessions, interviews, launches, etc.
  • Supports the organization and implementation of DPG events and meetings.
  • Ensures access to journalists to subject-matter experts and DPG Co-chairs where applicable.
  • Drafting/production and packaging of regular updates and policy issues to DPG members in collaboration with EDCTF, JWGs and DPG Secretariat.
