Job Purpose: The World Food Programme Advisor to CAADP (the Advisor) will work under the overall guidance of the Head of Agriculture and Food Security Division, AUC Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development; internally coordinate work through the Senior Advisor for Corporate and Country Engagement of the World Food Programme Strategic Partnerships (STR); and will have responsibilities to support the implementation of all CAADP-related processes and activities within the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (DARBE) of the African Union Commission. The Advisor will support the implementation of all CAADP-related processes and activities within DARBE. This will facilitate high-level political engagements and dialogues in AU Member States and at regional level to invigorate and ensure effective implementation of the CAADP framework across Africa, including achieving the Malabo Declaration (2014). In addition, the Advisor will support the implementation of strategic initiatives including the CAADP Partnerships Platform (CAADP PP), the CAADP Business Meeting, CAADP Donor Coordination Group (DPCG) and its work plan, the Permanent Secretaries retreats and key biennial review processes.
