Duties and Responsibilities: The following will be the expected deliverables of the consultancy:
- Inception report / workplan on how the task will be conducted
- Context adjusted data collection tools (based on the global tools developed by UN Women HQ)
- Raw data collected from the data collection in Amhara and Afar regions
- Data analysis and transcription of interviews, focus group discussion, and any other collection methods from field visits
- PowerPoint presentation of preliminary findings to UN Women ECO
- Two assessment reports of the data collection related to social norm change and women’s leadership for each region (Amhara and Afar).

Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Women/Gender Studies, Humanitarian Action, or relevant Social Sciences.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience with gender and GBV in emergencies at global, regional and / or country level with a focus on social norms change and local partnerships.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in conducting programmatic assessments / evaluations and with results-based management review methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge and technical expertise on quantitative and qualitative research methods for data collection and analysis
- Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian humanitarian context including the Northern Ethiopia crisis
- Familiarity with humanitarian coordination and response architecture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic is required
- Knowledge of Afari and / or other local languages is an asset
- Experience of working with UN Women or other UN agencies is an asset.
