IFPRI Job Vacancy 2022
Job Responsibilities:
- Pilot the intervention and data collection procedures outlined above at 10 slaughterhouses over 2 months to assess feasibility and acceptability
- Organize and observe training sessions for slaughterhouse workers assigned to the treatment group
- Organize approximately 20 trainings (exact number to be determined based on locations of chosen slaughterhouses) to go over incentive scheme and (in coordination with technical experts, to be identified by research team) technical training on practices required to qualify for incentive.
- Provide transport subsidies for training participants.
- Accompany technical experts on visits of each treatment slaughterhouse (100 visits) to demonstrate practices required for incentive payment.
- Record attendance at the 20 training sessions and demonstrations at slaughterhouses and ensure that only those associated with designated slaughterhouses are in attendance
- Manage disbursement of PPE for workers to slaughterhouse managers. PPE itself does not need to be included in the budget.
- Provide quality control to ensure protocol is effectively explained to the participants.
- Enroll workers present at training in the incentive payment program
- Enroll additional workers in the incentive scheme as needed
- Identify and manage slaughterhouse monitors
- Identify appropriate monitors for each treatment slaughterhouse according to protocol designed by research team, in consultation with community leaders
- Train slaughterhouse monitors
- Design and implement system to monitor the work of the slaughterhouse monitors
- Collect information from slaughterhouse monitors and administer payments (tentatively, around 500 KSh per day worked, to be confirmed) via mobile money to slaughterhouse monitors
- Pay incentives to slaughterhouse owners/workers as determined by information collected by monitors
- 250 shillings per week via mobile money, 90% probability if they comply, 3 to 4 workers per slaughterhouse, over 52 weeks
- Please budget $45,000 for the incentives.
