ILRI Job Vacancy 2022

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute baseline stud(ies) and annual surveys to update LVC project performance indicators.
  • Continuously monitor implementation progress against project performance indicators and carry out regular update of the M&E system and provide technical advisory to the implementing team.
  • Develop and regularly update monitoring and annual survey tools, including training of enumerators and maintaining data quality assurance standards across the project.
  • Participate in the USAID data quality assurance (DQA) missions and other PREG Meetings.
  • Build the capacity of LVC staff on quality data collection, storage, and analysis, as well as understanding the USAID FtF indicators and set targets.
  • Work with the Program Senior M&E Specialist and other Value Chain M&E Officers to compile relevant data from the MEASURE digital platform, and to support data reporting through the USAID FtFMS system.
  • Develop and implement the livestock value chain Annual Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (AMEP).
  • Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly MEL reports, and liaise with LVC technical staff to provide input to enable completion. Reports shall include project implementation progress, achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and success stories.
  • Participate in reporting of AIFSD-LVC annual work plans and budget and support the monitoring of implementation.
  • Participate in organization-wide activities and represent AIFSD-LVC at various meetings or events as workshops, conferences, and trainings for capacity building of partners as directed by the value chain manager.
  • Work directly with the LVC Data Manager to retrieve, compile and report on Livestock Sales from counties.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the LVC manager.

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in agriculture economics with a bias in livestock sciences; or BSc. in agriculture economics with a MSc. dissertation biased to livestock.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience and exposure to complex M&E systems in agricultural related areas.
  • Proven experience in designing, collecting, analysing, and reporting qualitative and quantitative data, preferably in the context of development, agricultural research, and natural resource management.
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and data analysis packages (Ms-Excel, database management systems, Ms-Word, Ms-Power-Point, the internet, SPSS, R and/or STATA).
  • Demonstrable strong donor report writing skills.
  • Previous practical experience and exposure to USAID M&E system and data quality requirements, and reporting.
  • Experience working successfully in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams and with diverse religious groups is a requirement.
