ILRI Job Vacancy 2022
Job Purpose:
- Collection and washing of glassware, lab consumables such as media, buffer solutions, pipettes tips and tubes.
- Sterilization of glassware, media and laboratory waste using autoclave.
- Issuance of consumables to lab users; distilled water/Milli Q water, glassware etc
- Collect and clean PPEs using laboratory dedicated laundry machines (Washers, driers, steam presser) and return the lab coats to designated locations in various labs
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in specialized labs such as Radioisotope, BSL2/3 conversion lab and biorepository areas.
- Prepare soil and soilless growth media mix and sterilization for use in propagating tissue culture plantlets with guidance of greenhouse supervisor.
- Monitor pest and disease incidences through regular scouting of the plant growth facility and with supervision of greenhouse supervisor to perform chemical sprays.
- Clean and disinfect potting/ labelling materials.
- Work with green house users in disposing waste at the end of the projects
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.
