UN Habitat Job Vacancy 2022

Job Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Land, Housing and Shelter Section and the Project Managers at the Global Land Tool Network within the Land Housing and Shelter section to implement two projects (GLII, NORAD), the consultant will carry out the following tasks:

  • Develop and strengthen the capacity of National Statistical Organizations (NSOs) and other land data agencies globally to fast-track collection and reporting of timely and gender disaggregated land tenure data at national level to move Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) land tenure security indicators 1.4.2, 5.a.1 and 5.a.2 to Tier 1.
  • Develop and strengthen the capacity of the land and data communities globally to collect data on comparable Global Land Indicators initiative (GLII) land indicators not included in the SDGs, bridge data gaps and monitor key trends to enhance monitoring of land governance and tenure security.
  • Convene the land and data communities for sustained dialogue and share best practices on monitoring of land governance issues in global and regional development frameworks and impact evaluation of land tenure and governance interventions including approaches to timely and disaggregated land data collection and promote gender responsiveness.
  • Undertake data sourcing, presentation and communication aligned with the global process for development of the joint global reporting mechanism on land governance issues in line with the SDGs process.
  • Develop knowledge products including position papers, blogs and publications for sharing and influencing best practices in data and land governance monitoring.
  • Develop implementation plan of the NORAD-funded project in fragile states (up to 40% of time) to ensure alignment with monitoring of land governance and tenure security in the SDGs and New Urban Agenda (NUA) frameworks.

Qualification:
