Job Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Urban Basic Services Section, the intern will:
- Assist in carrying out research and studies on a range of urban policy topics.
- Carry out mapping and analysis of data on selected topics relevant to the content and management of the urban policies, e.g. through internal surveys and analysis.
- Aid the compilation and review of progress on human settlement and urban-related indicators.
- Support the collection, curation, and dissemination of urban policies and knowledge, including case studies, impact stories, lessons learned, and technical reports.
- Aid in the design of context-specific resources and materials and support in the provision of translation and interpretation as needed.
- Provide updates on relevant emerging issues on the urbanisation of cities to inform project/programme development.
- Support the organisation, cataloguing, and analysis of information contained in communications, submissions, and publications received from different sources on the state of urbanisation.
- Search for and identify funding opportunities and calls for expression of interest supported by Haris Pajtic, Chief, Human Resource and Training Unit, Management, Advisory and Compliance Services governments, and related institutions.
- Assist in preparing draft concept papers, background documents, and position papers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
