UN Habitat Job Vacancy 2022
Job Duties: The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Consolidate and advance partnerships with key stakeholders, and specifically with local and regional governments and their associations.
- Facilitate the mobilization of partners towards UN-Habitat’s work on SDG localization and identify opportunities for collaboration, specifically within advocacy and capacity building processes.
- Liaise with UN-Habitat regional offices and country teams to mobilize local partners towards UN-led and international processes.
- Contribute to the implementation of global projects on SDG localization and VLRs, including UNDA Tranche 14 and 2030 Agenda sub-fund projects.
- Develop and implement bilateral cooperation projects with cities and local and regional governments and decentralized cooperation actors.
- Coordinate capacity building activities of the team in the context of the global projects and specifically the SDG localization trainings of trainers.
- Draft relevant preparatory project documents and support to the development of knowledge material.
- Identify strategic advocacy opportunities on SDG localization and local governance and facilitate UN-Habitat’s participation.
- Oversee the organization and planning of events/workshops, including the mobilize partners and participants.
- Prepare events’ background material, including concept notes and agendas.
- Facilitate UN-Habitat’s senior management participation in events and advocacy processes.

Qualification:
- Advanced University Degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Urban Studies Social Sciences, Communications, Development Studies or other relevant area.
Experience:
- A minimum of one (2) years of relevant experience on working on issues related to sustainable development, urban planning and local development. Working experience on Agenda 2030 and the local implementation of the SDGs will be highly valued.
