UNEP Job Vacancy 2022
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake mapping of key stakeholders, policies, programmes and projects for the SIDS Flagship and list of most relevant tools to be used by the SIDS Flagship programme
- Conduct consultation with national and international partners to ensure ownership by the Governments of the pilot countries as well as by the Alliance of Small Islands States (AOSIS).
- Conduct an extensive national context analysis including, socioeconomic, environmental, ecological, etc. of the target countries
- Coordinate the development of the SIDS Flagship programme design process by closely working with target countries, national institutions, national consultants as well as FAO, UNEP, DESA focal persons
- Develop proposal for the SIDS Flagship programme by ensuring cohesion between the 3 project components/outcomes stated above in its design by incorporating the input from the national consultants as well as from FAO, UNEP, DESA, including proposed national and regional coordination mechanisms and agreed institutional framework & implementation arrangements for the flagship programme.

Qualification:
- A master’s degree (or higher) in environmental sciences, international development, with specific academic or professional background related to climate change adaptation, monitoring and evaluation or other closely related fields is required. A bachelor’s degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience related to ecosystem management, blue economy and/or blue finance in SIDS is required;
- Experience in technical research and formulation of project proposals is required;
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams, including local and expatriate technical experts is required;
- Demonstrated experience in project development, implementation and management is an asset is required;
