UNODC Job Vacancy 2022
Duties and Responsibilities: Under overall supervision of the Head of Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking and Terrorism Programmes (Programme Management Officer), day-to-day supervision of the Associate Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer in Ethiopia, and in close consultation with UNODC HQ colleagues and other UNODC consultants, the Consultant will perform the following tasks:
- Develop a workplan in consultation with UNODC;
- Providing technical advice and support to the FOAG in developing its structural, internal policies and guidelines, Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), Training Curriculum and Terms of References (TORs) for the staff of the Witness Protection Unit;
- Develop and deliver trainings to the Witness Protection Unit personnel;
- Conduct specialized trainings on Witness Protection for Prosecutors, Investigators and other relevant criminal justice officials;
- Providing in-country assistance in the day-to-day operationalization of the Witness Protection Unit and the overall Witness Protection Strategy.

Qualification:
- An advanced university degree in the fields of law, criminology, public administration, political science, international relations or criminal justice, crime prevention and/or law enforcement is required. A first-level university degree or equivalent academic education,
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of proven professional experience in senior legal advisory positions and drafting of government legislation is required
- Understanding of witness protection issues is required
- Experience in training/mentoring law enforcement officers and/or other criminal justice
- officials in matters relating to the investigation and prosecution transnational organised crime is required;
- Previous work experience with the UN or other International Organizations is desirable;
