UNON Job Vacancy 2022
Duties and Responsibilities: The overall responsibility of the consultant is to aggregate and write the UN in Kenya Annual Results Report , based on the background and context provided above. The report should not exceed more than 25 pages, will conform to a standardized global format, will use clear and concise language, as well as images and appropriate design with a good balance between narrative and visuals, few words and more data to attract the readers’ attention highlighting and showcasing results. Specific responsibilities and duties of the consultant include:
- Substantively document results realized at output and outcome level clearly outlining the necessary linkages between the output and outcome level results. At output level, reflect on the changes in skills or abilities, or the availability of new products and services that resulted from the completion of activities within a development intervention, such as capacities built or formulation of a policy. At the outcome level, focus on the institutional and behavioral changes in development conditions that have occurred.
- Provide hard data and system wide-evidence supporting and backing up the results using infographics, focusing on human stories of transformative change, photos and images with concise captions and summaries communicating UN’s work, to clearly illustrate collective achievements both through descriptive narrative and visually.
- Demonstrate and clearly demonstrate in the report the role of partnerships and coordination in leveraging and realizing the results and driving transformative change giving visibility to major donors and innovative partnerships.
- Provide a financial overview report demonstrating the link between results and resources required, available, spent, and funding gaps for the reporting year, using UNINFO financial data.
- Write and submit a final fully-edited and proof-read report – as per the standard UN Annual Result Reporting Template.

Qualification:
- A first degree in communication, or related field is required .
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in communications or report preparation, including writing high level reports / journalistic and features reports, publications and information, education and communication (IEC) materials is required.
- Good understanding of socio-economic and development issues , demonstrating experience and ability to communicate development results is desirable .
- Prior UN experience and/or strong familiarity with UN communications modes and writing style is an asset.
