Job Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the Logistics Officer, will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provides effective and timely planning, oversight, management and coordination of logistics support operations
- Integrates and monitors the implementation of logistics support plans at assigned field missions.
- Coordinates field requests for assistance with DFS units, DPA, DM and permanent missions to the UN.
- Develops policy and procedures documentation for DFS field logistics support.
- Liaises between field missions and Headquarters staff on logistics matters and coordinates day-to-day support of logistics operations.
- Plans and co-ordinates logistics support to new, sustaining, expanding, contracting and liquidating peacekeeping operations and other field missions and other peacekeeping operations.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in logistics, business administration, public administration, engineering, or other relevant field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in surface and/or air transport, logistics operations in military, commercial or international organizations, or related area is required.
