WHO Job Vacancy 2022

Purpose Of The Position: The primary objective of this position is to support the collection, collation, aggregation and analysis of public health surveillance data to assist in the detection of outbreaks and other emergencies. Specifically, the Epi Data Analyst: (i) supports the processing of indicator data requirements and analysis of event surveillance information received at the Regional Office; (ii) contributes to the ongoing monitoring and collection of outbreak and emergency response information received at the Regional Office; (iii) undertakes data entry, cleaning, validation and analysis of data received; and (iv) ensures efficient collection, archiving and retrieval of records, ensuring that relevant and up-to-date information is available in web systems and portals. The expected products of the position include:

  • A cleaned, maintained, and timely updated database of diseases with epidemic potential to be addressed through Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) as part of the weekly surveillance platform
  • An updated and maintained document management system in accordance with the epidemic documentation criteria
  • The creation and maintenance of a database and repository of essential information on the monitoring of the response
  • Weekly statistical analysis of priority diseases to be covered by the IRMS in the Region.

Qualification:

  • At least two (02) years of experience in data management, statistics, as well as database design and development.
