Job Summary: The Program Manager plays central role in the success of the ILC Africa by overseeing and providing high quality technical support in planning and implementation of ILC Africa member-led programs (NES&CBIs). The Program Manager is responsible of a diverse and multi-located program portfolio across Sub-Saharan Africa and she/he has the double mandate to sustain and to grow it. The Program Manager reports to the ILC Africa Regional Coordinator and works in close liaison with counterparts in the ILC global secretariat responsible for coordinating programmatic support to the network.

Qualification:
- At least a master’s degree in environmental or social sciences, natural resource management, environmental economics or similar fields.
Experience
- At least 10 years of experience, including in programme/project management/implementation and/or supervision at cross-country/international level.
- Experience working with human rights and advocacy-based organizations such as smallholder farmer and peasants’ rights organizations, women and youth rights organizations, indigenous rights organizations, etc.
- Experience in portfolio management and in leading multi-actor dynamics.
- Strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform well in multicultural contexts and to interact appropriately with a broad range of actors (comprising community-based organizations, government representatives and intergovernmental organizations);
- A strong team player.
