IITA Job Vacancy 2024
Duties:
- Co-design tricot on farm and consumer testing trials and manage tricot data collection in ClimMob through the use of farmer guides and ODK phone/tablet data collections apps with the aim to do improved on farm testing for variety release and to generate gender/socially inclusive feedback from crop users along the value chain to inform breeding.
- Help in promoting and adapting the tricot approach as an improved way of doing on farm testing for variety release.
- Carry out fieldwork within communities and link qualitative data collected within tricot communities to quantitative tricot data.
- Carry out a pilot study on drivers of use and diffusion of varieties evaluated through tricot trials within communities and the social impact of such trials.
- Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification & Experience:
- BSc/HND in Social Science, Rural Extension or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment with strong interest in combining qualitative and quantitative methods and strong capacity in data management.
