OXFAM Job Vacancy 2022

Job Purpose: The post holder will be responsible for the Monitoring and Learning activities of Oxfam in Nigeria and of the partners all within the boundaries of the project Work in Progress!. Therefore, the Project Assistant will work closely with the Project lead based in Abuja office and other colleagues within the Project Management team (both in the Netherlands and in Abuja). The project organisation is matrix based. The post holder will keep oversight of the progress of project activities and monitor the indicators of the partner organisations and the activity planned by Oxfam in Nigeria. Fostering partnership management and assisting the Project lead in organizing joint activities among the partners. Ensuring project activities respond to the youth employment needs and the context specific way of working as defined by the Nigerian context. It will also include monitoring of the ‘Enabling Environment’ strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Program Coordinator in preparation and revision of annual plan with budget and Partner Grant Agreements.
  • Develop a detailed project implementation plan including workplans with the support of project and partner teams.
  • Prepare regular project implementation updates and submit to the Program Coordinator.
  • Contribute to and work closely with the Program Coordinator and Finance officer in reviewing, compiling, and drafting all project quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
  • Prepare case studies, process, and learning documentations of the project.
  • Assist to organize review and reflection meetings with partner staff and project members periodically to keep track of project deliverables, plan and monitor the budget and expenditure to ensure funds are spent within the timeframe acceptable to Oxfam and the donor and ensuring the compliance and policy of Oxfam/donor are adhered to.
  • Contribute to conducting needs assessment and research related to mid-term review and final evaluation.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in ensuring mainstreaming gender and social inclusion in project activities participation in the project.
  • Develop MEAL plan, ensure Monitoring and support monitoring of MEAL plan implementation by partner organizations during the implementation of their activities
  • Support the Project lead and Finance Officer in using partnership management tools of Oxfam
  • Develop ideas where added value of the joint activities can be increased; how the project strategy and risks to the project can be monitored and amended
  • Provide support to project development and fundraising within WiP! Project
  • Support Project coordinator in implementing the influencing & campaign activities in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop the MEAL framework & monitor the influencing & campaign activities.
  • Set up and manage the Youth Advisory Board
  • Support in preparing travel documentations of the project team
  • Any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator

Qualification:

  • First degree or equivalent in Political Sciences, Economics, Financial Management, , Law or other relevant qualification.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ working experience in a development organization
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Monitoring Evaluation And Learning(MEAL) of development projects
  • Experience developing or using M&E systems in projects with different components and/or interventions.
  • Experience in working with partner organisations.
  • Experience in working in a multi-national/ cultural environment.
  • Experience in working with young people.
